Just awful movie, criminal use of H.R. Giger's incredible creation. If you've seen Alien, don't subject yourself to this.

It’s what you’d expect
I wanted to watch something short and simple. Aliens vs Predator - Requiem is exactly that. My expectations were low, but I was still a little disappointed. Watching this makes you long for the first part of Alien vs. Predator.
AVPR starts really fast. At first it feels a little like a comedy and at times it feels like a video game. That’s not promising but fortunately the movie gets a little better towards the end. The story of the film is very weak. They throw in aliens, predators and poor people and see what happens. It feels more like an experiment than a plot.
There are so many clichés in the movie that it feels like watching a movie you have already seen. Many of the leading actors seem to get equal amount of screen time. I think it makes their roles weak. There is not enough time to get familiar with any of the characters, except for the creatures.
There are some good things in the movie as well….at least one good thing, the visual effects. Both alien and predator look flawless…based on what you can actually see. Unfortunately, they do what they always do; they show the creatures only either in dark places or at dark hours. There is a lot of action but most of it is unimaginative and repetitive.
This movie doesn’t do justice to either of these respected creatures. It’s sad to kill their future with this kind of nonsense. This is what happens when you let cg creatures perform in the leading roles.
All that said, I still believe that many teen age guys would love this movie. I am just too old for this.
My rating of AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem:
A Bland, Yet Visually Decent Sequel
Now, first of all, to make it clear, even though visually decent, I found the movie so utterly tasteless due to the senseless slaughter, that I never finished the whole thing. That being said, my impressions on what I saw.
Starting off exactly where the prequel left off, a deadly alien-predator hybrid crashes into the hills near a town in Colorado and along with a couple of facehuggers, is released to terrorize the town. Along comes a Predator to hunt down the Aliens, and the town turns into a deadly battleground for the two lifeforms.
And when I say deadly, I mean it. People after people are murdered, killed, slaughtered and massacred in ways that you can only imagine - but probably prefer not to. This was the main reason for me not to finish the movie; I found it tasteless and disheartening, even though I tried my very best to tune in with the right attitude. Sorry guys, this movie just wasn't for me. That being said, the weak plot and lame storytelling are saved from a one-star rating only by the decent visual side, I really thought the predator looked actually cool in some scenes. If you haven't seen the alien-movies or the predator ones, and are interested in both, go take a look at part one of Alien vs Predator, it was better.
My rating of AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem:
A decent leave-your-brains-at-home -action movie
What happens when the popular creatures of the eighties action/thriller movies land at a peaceful town in the US? With no Sigourney Weaver or Arnold around, these creatures become near unstoppable.
Actually the true match is between the monsters, and poor humans just happen to be in the way.
AVP2 utilizes an interesting element of the former Alien -movies - namely the Aliens' ability to gain certain characteristics of its host. Guess who/what is the host of the "boss-alien" this time around? Yep, you got it, our friend the intergalactic collector.
People die left and right. Especially military personnel who are here to save the day. Decent action with no real content beyond that. The movie is enjoyable with the correct kind of attitude and humor.
