This is my kind of movie: a story that's involving on surface level, but very detailed and complex on multiple viewings. Everyone does a superb job, especially Tilda. Not many actors will sit in a bathroom stall and rub the armpit of their sweat-soaked dress for the camera, in graphic detail.
Michael Clayton Reviews
Well, call me a lawyer.. but I actually liked this film!
This movie focuses heavily on communication through feelings rather than laying out a compelling plot for the viewers. The message of the film is clear, maybe even too one sided. It kinda underlines the same point with a too thick of a marker.
I enjoyed the clear, straightforward, and slightly exaggerated way a lawyers profession was portrayed. I didn't like the slightly supernatural elements of the plot. I also thought the portrayal of Clayton's personal life was never really tied well into the great scheme of things - I guess it was just put in to bring the character closer to the viewer.
The plot was great and the it was a good thing in the "grande finale" to leave the viewer a bit in the dark about the actions and motives of the main character.
Clooney did great, even though I think it was his first drama role?
My rating of Michael Clayton:
A great lawyer movie! Filled with idealism and exaggerated images of corporate greed, but still a good flick.
