I was fallen asleep 3 times! I think it's a mix out of (very old) James Bond and Harry Potter. 4 stars for the fun and the Wing Chun fighting scenes. Definitely NOT a "Must See"!

RDJ is so awesome, and I was surprised I didn't hate McAdams - I thought she was too sugary sweet to carry off cool, but she did it nicely. A little bizarre for me, not quite clever enough for Holmes in my opinion, but fun, and the end credits were great.

While it doesn't compare to other great movies this year (i.e. Star Trek, Avatar), Sherlock Holmes is the start of what is sure to be a great remake of the classic mystery figure.

A bit boring movie. As in books - Sherlock Holmes is not a such person as described in movie

Thought it was a very good movie. Enough action and comedy to keep me entertained. I did become bored or lost at a few points when Downey was explaining theories and started speaking fast and low. Other than that, I loved it.

The time is 1891, and the place is still London, but Ritchie can't be bothered with period details, especially dialogue. Noticing that the villainous Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong) has scratched bloody messages all over his filthy prison cell, Holmes quips, "Love what you've done with the place." Holmes scholars will cry their eyes out over this update from hell. Rachel McAdams is mere window dressing as a mystery woman from Holmes' past. In place of romance, we get cheesy computer effects (that collapsing bridge — please). Ritchie is all about the whooshing and headbanging, leaving no space between Holmes' words to savor their meaning. Downey is irresistible. The movie, not so much.
