Up in the Air is an excellent character study and lens over what makes a life valuable. Always running from life, it's hard to live it and make any meaningful connection.
Actually a really touching film. Clooney was great, but the ending wasn't perfect for my taste.. but I guess it fits the movie.
This was a snoozer for me. Interesting to see the reactions of real folks but they were dry...not the best fodder for a film. Dialogue was forced, characters were hard to love. I'll forget this very soon, I'm sure.
This movie was interesting. It seemed like something was going to happen and nothing did. But that is just what the movie was all about. A loner bachelor who will always be a loner
Interesting movie. Made me think of social isolation and the toll it can take.

Up in the Air
Thoughtfully written and wonderfully acted. The characters were very real and the depiction of the firing process in today's economy was brilliant. Bahsing business is easy (which is why it appeals to the lazy and self-indulgent Michael Moore) but seeing and hearing the reactions of the people effected was very powerful. Meanwhile George Clooney continues to amaze me as he easily goes from Michael Clayton to Burn After Reading to that stupid Goat flick to this film. He has Cary Grant grace and Tom Hanks likability making him in my view one of the best of our generation.
